At first glance, McKissick's lively impressionistic paintings of people,
animals and landscapes appear effortlessly spontaneous, as though conceived and executed
in an afternoon. They are elegantly and precisely drawn images with
composition, color and atmosphere deliberately calculated to evoke a specific emotional
response. The viewer is pulled into the painting.
